Subject: RE: Pulling a 15' GP drill by pick-up truck

I have a 1992 Great Plains Drill that I have pulled with my pickup. The tongue weight is a problem but it is because it isn't heavy enough. With the drill in transport position and the three hydraulic stops in place a strong man can almost pick the jack up off of the ground. My seems to be pretty back heavy. I have a DMI bumper with the heavy drawbar all in one. You can not get the mounting bracket on the drill to clamp to the drawbar like on a tractor. You have to take that off of the drill and put a heavy grade bolt through the drill and drawbar and wrench it down. Mine has two wheels instead of four and it sways badly as it goes down the road. Four wheels might be better. You will have to go slow. 25 might be fast for this pull. If you can make a stop that will let the front coulters down alittle without hitting the road it might transfer more weight to the truck to make it better.
