So. IL | There is a set of stop blocks on either side of the pivot point of the caddy. Take along a 24" crescent wrench and a cheater bar to adjust the bolts heads thereby removing any slop in the pivot point. You will have to remember to re-adjust these bolts when you get home but by doing this the drill will not sway or swing when going down the road.
Travel speed will be a function of stopping power. Take along some tractor weights and put them in the truck bed just behind the cab. Six to eight hundred pounds should do. Try to put the weights on a rubber matt if available.
I pulled mine a hundred miles also to get it home. Used a F-350 dually. Engine power should not be a problem, however adding weight to the truck will increase the starting and stopping traction.
If you can, have someone follow you in another vehicle and communicate with either CB radios or a cheap set of the motorola radios available these days at the stores.
