The reason the Case IH usb drive is expensive is the manufacturer of the drive cannot make any changes to the drive after Case IH approved it.  It's like a one off production for the manufacturer, made to Case IH's specs.  Case IH also guarantees they will be able to recover the data off the approved drive if it was to crash on a guy.  I too think the price is high, but that's the supported drive and like another poster mention it's small and doesn't stick out the side to where it can get knocked around/off.
