Southern IL
Im in the same situation here in southern IL, didnt have it sprayed last fall, so we lit it with a match and burned most residue off, looks pretty good except for a few rough acres where I didnt get it completely worked from a failed food plot. There are a few scattered briars and some scattered small sumac, but I plant to work the rough spots and no-till the rest, looks pretty level. What time frame do you plant corn up there? Good Luck.
