Common around here in the dust bowl. Some will wait until the milo comes up and gets some rain before putting any herbicide on. Fertilizer, just put it on when we have good soil moisture, or put on manure/compost every few years.
And there are a few that never fertilize for dryland crops. I'm not going to do that, but some do.
