I think up here in my situation what I will probably do I shoot for that 30K to 33K population. I think at that rate I can have a good solid stand that hopefully will minimize the amount of tillering. That way I can get the grain dried down on the plant and out of the field. I guess every situation is different. For me it is the first year doing it so I guess no matter what it will be an experiment.

It really seems like grain sorghum is starting to be considered by a lot more people. Will have to wait around and see how many actually try it. Sure will be a lot cheaper to grow than corn. It may be more attractive to the livestock guy for feeding than the pure grain farmer.
