Thanks for all the good comments. I grew pintos for probably 20 years but haven't raised them in several years mostly because of the harvest process, so close to having them in the bin and have the weather get you. I see rollers recommened by ND growers is this mostly to flatten the ground or to push the rocks flat or both? I have sold most of my tillage equipment except for a ripper, a Landoll VT machine, a summers packer, a strip tiller and still have a row crop cultivator. Probably would VT the field then strip-till it, I could run the packer over it after the VT if it would help to level the field. I hadn't checked labels on the burndown herbicides yet, the recs I had were from bean company reps. What are people liking for pre and post herbicides these days? The field is relatively clean, some lambsquarter, a little kochia.
