Subject: Raising soybeans?'s

Southwest OK
So I have been 100% wheat and cattle for years, and I need to change. I have some highly productive river bottoms that should grow beans, but I need some advice on fertility, varieties, planting dates, chemical programs, basically everything about soybean production. The soil in these bottoms is variable, most being a sandy loam with some sugar sand and a little black gumbo. ( Makes setting seeding depth fun!) PH will be from 7.1 to 7.6. I will use an 1890 JD air drill and no-till. These bottoms are currently in wheat, due to the vast amount of cheat, harvesting is not really an option so they will be baled. I would typically graze them out, but don't have the cattle or the ambition to buy them. I wouldn't have a problem with terminating the wheat to have more stubble, but would have to be convinced that it will make me more money long term than the hay will. Any and all suggestions and advice will be greatly appreciated.
