Ripley, Ontario Canada
Currently no cost share for cover crops, has been some very limited funding in past for some conservation projects, currently nothing, maybe something again in spring ???? No details yet. The big surge in cover crops this year was after wheat, and usually oats or oats and peas. Reason was a need for forage for livestock due to severe hay shortage.

Southern Ontario is a very diverse geographic region. The southern tip is the same latitude as northern California and depending on where you draw the line can go up close to the 49th parallel (Canada US border in West) and we are surrounded by 3 of the Great lakes. What works in one area may not work 20 miles away. I am 2 miles from Lake Huron and I have a significantly longer growing season than 30 miles inland. I may have 3 to 4 weeks longer before a killing frost in the fall.
