Subject: need input on grain farming in southwestern Ontario

I am working on a presentation on cover crop management for organic grain farms in southwestern Ontario.

the presentation is tomorrow afternoon so any timely input would be appreciated.

here are a few questions I am wondering about:

Which cover crops are currently most commonly planted in SWO?

What are the standard planting windows for these species?

How much highly erodible land is there in SWO?

What types of conservation practices are most common? e.g. terraces, grassed waterways, grade control structures....

How important is artificial drainage and what drainage practices are most common?

How much livestock is raised in SWO and how readily available would manure be if an organic farmer wanted to purchase manure?

What are the standard row spacings for grain crops grown in SWO? do organic farmers typically use these row spacings?

What tillage practices are most common in grain production systems? how about on organic farms?

If an organic grain farmer wanted to hire a custom operator to plant with GPS guidance, how feasible would that be?

Are there any especially good web resources on grain production, cover crops or specifically organic production in SWO?

thats probably enough Qs for now :->
