western iowa,by Denison | My son builds them -we use 2 3/8 pipe-I think it weighs 3.5# per ft-at 5 pipes it is 17.5 # per ft-it cost about $00? to build a 20ft gate,it weighs about 800# and then he also builds a lighter 20 ft gate that weighs 400#-we use this gate on less pressure aeras ,that gate cost $400-comes with a 2 inch solid shaft hinge-no problem moving them we use the skid loader or payloader,you can hang 600# on the very end and the gate will only deflect down about a 1/4 inch-I hate gates that are not hung high-and sag and have poor hinges! | |
