I thought the basis for the JD baler came from Hesston. I have ran a 535 with net wrap for years. I have owned Over the years Hesston, IH, Vemeer, New Holland and Jd. As much as I hate to confess the JD has been the best

I believe vermeer and hesston were some of the first. In reality, I suppose all of the other brands loosely based theirs off of something like the first ones. Deere included. My dad had one of the first model deere's, a 410, and it was setup very differently than a 535 and up model. 535's are the basis for all of the newest deere models, hence the reason I stated that not much has changed in the last 20 or so years for the deere's. In my experience, the Deere's just keep baling and baling!
