It doesn't cost a whole lot less per mile to operate a pickup and gooseneck than it does a semi. Fuel mileage might be slightly better, but if your making short hauls it might not be. Goose neck will have fewer tires, but will have more flats. It takes just as many hours per trip with a pickup as it does a semi.
