South Central South Dakota | Looking good Jim it's amazing how stalks can help prolong hay use I'm hopping I got bout 2 more weeks before I will need to start running hay out to my cows all of them are on stalks right now and some are in fields with strips that where left for hunt I'm amazed how well the cows don't seem to go crazy in them but take there time cleaning them off that stalks.
Are you running your cows on stalks till the thaw time frame n spring or later or are you pulling them sooner then that? I start to calve in April so depending n weather and what's left out in the fields for feed I'm usually pulling my cows in for closer yards and full feed at the latest by late feb. so I can give them there spring work ups before they calf |
