Thanks TC. Dave after I get to my target herd size I may try a couple different bulls. So you think the brockle face, red angus/hereford cross would make good cows? Might be very interesting. But if I put a Red Angus bull on my Hereford cows as a terminal cross am I going to have the same dock at the sale barn on brockle faced red/white steers as on straight herefords? Or would you put a black bull on the brockle cows? Fonzie, yes the one facing the camera in the first pic is a particularly easy keeping cow. But I like them long, low and wide. A few of the others needed some corn more than she did. It is amazing what 10 days on some limited poor grazing corn did for them though. I did not want the cows getting too much grain and pushed them to eat more stalk than I do with the calves. The 10 days with the cows in corn saved me about a weeks worth of hay.
