Steve Orloff in California has an interesting thought about using the mineral analysis to monitor fertility. The idea is for Dairy Quality Alfalfa they are harvesting before reaching the approved stage for plant analysis.
He has had a few presentations in California and at least one in Idaho and another in Washington. Maybe Oregon also.

California has their own drummer and do things a good bit different from the rest of the world. I believe their lab is set up for research rather than for production agriculture. it is difficult to correlate their results with any other lab.

I say go with the lab that will talk to you as a fellow human in Agriculture.
