Texas/New Mexico Stateline
Sticky clay-loam. I don't know all the technical terms. Natives used to make Adobe brick out of it. Tells you what it does when it goes from wet to dry. CANNOT work it too wet or you will end up with what we call buckshot and compacted. Wet, it will stick to your boots and you will gain an 1" every step and it will try to pull your boots off. Dry it will crack wide open. Reddish brown in color like most ground here. OM usually less than 1%, with the drought we are probably down to .75% OM now. Naturally very fertile as the nutrients are not all leached out we are so dry.
