New Iberia la (Cajun country)
In the south from I-10 on south we farm Baldwin silt loam, iberia clay, loreauville silt loam, sharky clay, alligator complex, Calhoun , coteau, memphis, acy silt loam.first 3 are dark and loamy and retain moisture very well. Snarky and alligator make beans well but is
Horrible to work and difficult to harvest under wet conditions for sugarcane. Last 4 are what we call sand. Better for sugarcane but don't make beans as well because of low ph.
