| Dad dropped three the other day with a .22. Yes I said a .22.
He was sitting by his slide glass door watching the birds, and four younger coyotes came busting around the house. Dad says he believes they've done this trick before trying to surprise the cats that like to sit on the patio. One cat took off, and two coyotes took off after it, one came right onto the patio and immediately started eating the cat food, never even sniffed it, just started chowing down. The fourth coyote walked the 10 feet to under the feeders and was sniffing around. Dad grabbed the .22 he had sitting there for skunks and porcupines, and cracked the door open and the coyote on the patio stepped off about 5 feet and turned around to look, dad dropped him with one shot. The other coyote under the feeders, 5 feet from the first just glanced up and dad dropped him with one shot. Dad stepped out and walked around the corner of the house and the other two coyotes were standing around the empty garage, dad hit the third coyote, but he didn't go down immediately and started howling and the fourth took off.
Other then that a good call and 22-250 is our preferred method, or if we have a downed cow or deer, target practice all day and night. | |
