Nc Ks. | I have no chopper on my 1680 and don't miss one, however there are other local farmers that wouldn't run without one. I set the angle of the bats on the spreaders to their most aggressive position. I've got a chaff spreader on below the straw spreader. In wheat it will cover most of a 24ft. header swath. In beans with our 20ft. flex head, it will throw a little into the uncut beans. It's not enough that I bother changing the angle on the spreader bats back. We run a JD no-till drill and the bean stubble never bothers no-tilling wheat right behind the combine. And if the leave the bean stubble lay until the following spring for another spring crop, it is completely dried out. | |
