Subject: Re: Cotton following milo in no-till or strip till

Texas
Soil tests showed the ground about the same as last years soil tests. Really surprised me but after thinking about it we pulled very few nutrients out in 2011. I use 2 tons of composted manure each year on the cotton ground. In the half pivots I am putting down three tons of compost on the milo stubble for next years cotton crop.

Consultant and I talked more about It today. He says its more of a problem with wheat following milo but thinks some good pre plant irrigation would be a good idea since we are still in a drought.

Thanks for the replies.
