| My uncle gave me one many years ago. It was surplus from the university where he was the biology lab technician. A pretty good Japanese one, it has a geared "table" with manual knobs to move the slide around in 2 axis. Also came with a selection of educational slides, various cells, insect parts, etc.
Last time I used it, was when I bought a micofiche of a seed drill parts diagram. Rather then go to the library that had a micofiche reader, I just stick it under the microscope. Today, those parts books are online, of course, making the fiche redundant, those were fixtures at the equipment dealers years ago.
