North Central Kansas | That's true. Hard to find a 'good' farmer and a 'good' cowman under the same hat. Takes a different mentality, not so production driven like grain farming. Your cows must eat by products of your crops/crop rotation. Start figuring up what it costs to feed a cow for 6 months out of the year and this becomes an expensive hobby fast. Cows can support little to no machinery. A cows time is free, put her to work for you. Start small and see if you like it. | |
