I guess I'm in my own little world-I raise all the feed myself,and just by a few products,I guess if you want to feed a lot of cattle you have to buy feed-I can feed right against the big lots because my feed comes from my farm-higher corn price has only helped me as I can sell more gross dollars-I could grain farm but I,m after that xtra 25% dollars that a grain farmer leaves behind,so instead of farming a lot of acres-I can farm less and still make a good profit-feed is not my concern,The cowman needs a profit to stay in business,my profit after him is usually set by those feedlots that want to work for free,and fail to realize that a farmer with his own feed can adjust.Then I have the chance to also make use of the manure to haul back on my own ground,so that I can again grow my feed supply,
I wonder if there ever teach common sense at a university?
