I don't see how you guys can afford to do it. I had to do it because of the drought with the quality of forage going downhill quickly. Granted, towards the end, my 6 weight calves were eating 10 lbs/head/day. At 240 a ton for minimal gains I don't see how you can make it work year in and year out.

Lets do the math using your numbers........
The creep feed cost is $.12/lb and they eat 10lbs/day.....so that a $1.20/day. 6 weight calves are bringing what??? $1.40/lb....
Now I don't know exactly what they gain a day eating 10lbs worth but I'm sure there is a smarter person on here than me that can figure that and let us know. Sooooo, if they only gain 1lb/day you've made $.20/day extra....... if they gain 2lbs/day because of the creep...well....you've more than doubled your money!!
So what's that about not being able to afford to do it???
