Unit 2 - 10/26/2012 22:10Had a school teacher once that used to tell us, "No one can take advantage of you, unless you let them." The same goes for people who borrow things from you, but that doesen't mean one can't be a good neighbor to someone in need.
Exactly the path I've been taking with a family member who can do no wrong. At family functions I ignore him when he is less than perfectly polite. Otherwise, he does not exist. Know the farm tools feeling. Said family member will do that. I do NOT own the farm, but am always ready to pitch in, get a little pay, use the shop if it's not in use etc. Have been invited to other shops by friends where I see the owners allowing this to go on. In most money means nothing, but a case of beer for the fridge or a pizza go a llong way to expressing one does not want to be a mooch. Guess it helps to NOT know it all and want to learn too.
