I was amazed at how the wall made me feel when we visited it. At the beginning, I was enjoying a great day, as I progressed down through the dip and back up the other side of the slope, strange emotions arose deep inside me. One name just jumped out, I read it carefully, and realized it was a neighbor that lived about six miles from our farm, that was killed early in the conflict.
I agree that you need to visit the wall to really appreciate it. |
