haskell county, ks | my grandmother was born in '93 and died in '96 just short of her 103rd birthday. she would not say much about early days and we didn't have the sense to ask the kind of leading questions to gain the valuable insight to her life. her father was in the civil war and was to young to join. he was born in 1848 and was in the new york 12th cavalry. how he got to kansas and settled i have no clue and hardly know how to find out. anyone having any info on the new york 12th cavalry and how to research would be very interesting for me. my dad just turned 88 but has little memory of his lineage and dad is the last of his siblings. | |
