That's interesting reading.
My grandmother lived to be 101. She wasn't born in the 1800's but lived to see Haley's comet twice in her lifetime. She said her dad took her outside one evening after dark and told her to look close because it was a once in a lifetime thing. She giggled when she saw it the second time. "guess I showed him!" she said.
