Downtown Shell Knob MO Come Visit!
Its not that it doesn't work or causes problems. The AA reacts with water so if the hay is real dry, you simply dont get as good of treatment and penetration and give up more free AA to the wide open sky why you open up the stack. If you ever treat hay with a little moisture, it won't burn your nose near as much when you "break open the stack" Nothing is more fun that baling a super poor feedstuff like straw at 30% moisture and getting it stacked and covered and treated in time that it doesnt mold. but that only happens about 1 in 10 years around here because it usually takes me half a year to get my bales from the field to a stack and another couple months to round up enough cash for some AA.
