New Mexico | Trap, pasture, grove etc really helps with weaning. just close the gate wean em on their own grass, feeder in their pasture etc.. on fleshy the way to keep that down is keep protien ie oats for instance, high in the ration and limit intake to 3/4 lb of of grain per 100 lbs of calf wt. daily w salt mixed in their ration. on more cracked corn in the ration limit em to 1/2 lb intake per cwt calf wt. daily.
