| For those who don't want to get their feet dirty getting out and locking the hubs, then for crying out loud just lock'em in before you get in the pickup and take off. I drive with my hubs locked in all winter long. I will unlock them for a trip to town but most of the time I never get over 10 miles from home anyway with the pickup. As noted in previous posts, most of these electronic gizmos are allowing most of the stuff to turn all the time anyway. I remember the old fulltime 4x4/auto trans gas guzzlers of the late '70s. I don't think a part-time system with hubs left engaged drags near as much as those power/fuel hogs did. There was a part time conversion kit for those transfer cases but most were converted back. I think folks ran into trouble when the converted transfer case did not lubricate itself properly.
