Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | I've taken blood pressure meds for probably 10 years. I never had really high blood pressure but was always borderline but the doctor put me on a low level dose anyway. Still would run around the 130/85 mark more or less. He told me for years if I would just lose 20 lbs and excersise a little my blood pressure would come down.
Since I have lost 20 lbs. my blood pressure has been lower for a year now. Usually right around 120/80 sometimes lower. He also put me on a low dose of aspirin so I don't know if that was the difference or not but it all helps I'm sure. I guess I don't care if I take the meds or not. They don't bother me. The cost was getting out of hand until we went generic. Was over $80.00/month. Now under $10.00
For the week, down 1 lb. Going to be tough the next week or so. Traveling and eating out but hope to be doing a lot of walking, too. |
