Kinzepower,

 I know this has been discussed before with many disagreements but tire pressure and ground pressure are not related.  If they were try taking off you 1050's and run 290's at 15 psi and see if your ground pressure is the same.  Ground pressure comes from load/surface area.  With most properly sized tires the pressures are simular.  By putting on very oversize tires you may even be able to have less ground pressure than air pressure.
