Northern Illinois
I agree Boilermaker. In our area of northern IL where we have always been very heavy continuous corn we have always had extreme CRW pressure. I believe the trait still works to a point. Definitely not discounting resistance in places. Also, if you have enough larvae present they all have to feed in order to die. So you can still see quite a bit of feeding and scarring if there is a lot of RW pressure. I honestly think RW corn has in some cases changed the life cycle of the CRW. The later they begin to feed on the plant the less concentrated the protein is I believe. So if hatch comes later in the corns life when the protein is less concentrated in the plant they could withstand eating the protein. Just some thoughts.
