SW Iowa | Hate to disagree with ya Coup, but the past 5 years have been better for me than the previous 30 in grain farming. I have to credit ethanol demand for all this surplus corn we used to have for making the new wealth in corn farming. Not sure why soybeans have gone up so much also, not used in ethanol, but they also are a money maker.
'80's didn't build character, they destroyed lives. Lots of Good farmers bit the dust. The only reason I didn't get gobbled up was an outside job I had and farmed nights and weekends. The job allowed me to hang on to it all. | |
