| I don't think he updates as often as he used to. The main thing to remember is that 'crop conditions' are much more art than science. Many people have tried to equate crop condition report numbers to final yield, without any success. Making a numerical link from conditions to yield doesnt work. Several researchers have tried but non that I know of felt that crop conditions were that useful.
Personally, I would be fine if USDA/NASS dropped the crop condition report and used those funds to improve some other report. There has to be something, someway, that is better. For example, I think the sat photos and vegetative green-ness maps are much more helpful. Just my $0.02. | |
