E.Central MN | Because of the dry winter/spring, I decided to hedge my bets and lowered my population a bit on some of the fields, especially on a field that I expected to chop for silage. After planting this year we got so much rain that it flooded out parts of the fields, looked like a really bad idea to reduce the population. But it has been really dry since then, areas of drowned out/stressed corn with some nice looking corn in between. Looks like we'll get a decent crop here, hopefully a little
better than last year's reduced crop, but not a record crop by any means. | |
