| Up till now I haven't read anything from PP I agree with, but I've always wondered about the extreme thick stands I've heard about in the I-states. My first year farming I dropped 24,000 of Pioneer 33B54 onto an irrigated pivot that had been wheat the year before. It was no-till and the straw had not been spread well so I got maybe 21,000 up. Then I got hailed and that thinned it out to about 19,000. That pivot made 204 bpa (this was in 2008).
I know this is off topic, but what's wrong with getting a flex eared corn and planting maybe 2x,000 instead of 3x,000? | |
