Why not $12 corn? Land rent used to be $100-150/ acre, and potash prices used to be $300-350/ ton. Last time we had a "run-up" in corn prices, it only lead to an increase in land rent, and an increase in fertilizer prices. Do you actually think you will pocket that increase in profit if the price of corn goes up? If the price of corn goes up - and stays up - don't you think it will just lead to an increase in crop expenses ? And if that happens, honestly, it will be driven by farmers, not others. |
