Subject: shoulder dislocation

i was unlucky and dislocated my shoulder a week ago today while trying to put some new poles in a old barn. i went to the va emergency room about 60 miles away and the doctor was able to get it back in place after what seemed to be a longtime to me as it was really painful. they said that the xray did not seem to show any fractures. they put me in a sling and the shoulder has had little swelling or pain since. they told me the rehab section of va would be contacting me but i have heard nothing from them. my question is can i remove the sling and start doing a few light duty things around the farm? this is the first time for dislocation and i am in my 60s. i hate to just sit in the house all day. do any of you here at agtalk have any history with this kind of a problem? thanks
