Subject: Re: corn tassell in heat?

southern il.
I have had some corn hybrids to fail to pollinate in hundred degree heat, it generally happens when it does not cool off at nite and there is very little moisture. We have had very little rain this year and now temps running up to 108 and looks like it will continue for serveral more days. Most of our corn has been pollnating this last week and some this week and most looks like it did alright, but that isn't going to make much difference it will probably be dead by next week. I have been farming for a long time and have had dry spells before but this one is a new experience.
