I think your guys' problems mostly came with XP. With the latest version of Seedstar 2 I have no full page warnings that annoy me on headlands. Long point rows yes. Never ever had the tractor push the planter with a 30 series. With a 9400 that didn't have a way of knowing what gear the tractor was in I did. Seedstar 2 worked like a champ here this year other than one day planting beans I got a "Controller not available" page, but shutting down and starting it back up fixed it. Brother saw it once in the 4830 too.
