Bow Island, Alberta | We converterd all of our pivots about 10 years ago. Can't find one without, in our area of Alberta.
In addition to water (and energy loss) our main benefit was energy savings in terms of pressures. Going from standard impact sprinklers at 50 psi (70 at pivot point) to drops and i-wobs redudued our pressure requirements to 10 psi (30 at the pivot point). So we usually saved half of our pumping cost if we didn't have much friction loss or elevation between the pump and the the pivot. That alone resulted in about a 3 year payback for us.
