West Chazy, New York | You can make a pretty good calculation if you have a meter on the pivot. Plant a few rain gauges in the pivot path and see what you actually capture, then compare that to how much went through the meter and calculate the loss. That assumes your nozzles are uniform across the length of the pivot. That's another reason to use the rain gauges; if you set them every hundred feet or so and compare them to each other you can get a feel for how uniform your distribution is. | |
