| Yes, a minor software update would solve the problem. Some of the new correction sources use identifiers that are "non-standard" in the NMEA spec that was in place at the time the Deere monitor firmware was written. There is a number that indicates GPS correction source, or something like that. Something like 0 = no GPS, 1 = uncorrected, 2 = Differential. Then when companies introduced XP and other sources, they decided to use this same data field, but add new values to indicate the correction from one of these improved sources. If software was written that expected to see only the oringal values in the spec, it could break, or at least think there is no GPS. That's what is happening to you. The solution, as I understand it is to set your receiver so you can only get WAAS. But that's frustrating if you are trying to use it for guidance. | |
