Willie Nelson & Farm-Aid wanted to help farming, but they kinda took a different path than farming in the USA is - so not much help really, just to a very small segment outside the mainstream. Often times I like those outside the mainstream farms, but don't see that as American Agriculture....

Likewise with conservation programs, they seem to get twisted into something that ends up being at odds with agriculture, costing farmers, taking away freedoms and adding complexity for not well defined 'benefits' to wildlife, and harmful to farming.

So if we oppose conservation efforts we seem to be in a bad light, but if we are for conservation efforts, we are hurting ourselves.

Not much good to come from that.
