Embarrass WI | You mean they actually call you?
I always give them my cell number, and ask them to call when they leave so I can be around to show them the fields or whatever. They call ahead maybe 1 time out of 5 or 6.
One time I was having a co-op spread dry fertilizer with an airflow spreader with alfalfa seed. Had 2 fields, total about 40A, same mix and rate for both. Tender truck loaded the spreader, guy spread the first field, then came back to the truck for product for the second field. Truck driver was still waiting, but tender truck was empty, he had loaded enough for both fields. I got some 'free' alfalfa seed out of that.
I've done enough custom work to have an idea of all the possible ways to screw up. I got so I wouldn't start working in a field the first time until the customer stood in the driveway of the field and pointed to it-"This one". |
