Morris, IL | Couldn't agree more with what Ron said, family has been using NH3 since granddad started 35 years ago. It's very common around here especially in the fall. Junk equipment and not knowing much about NH3 can get you hurt, be respectful to almost afraid of NH3 and refuse junk equipment. Anhydrous means without water, so it's going to take water from anything it touches including eyes and skin. That is why water is on every tank, if not don't use it. Know of a local farmers who's uncle got sprayed with NH3, he was in a hurry so same old story, the water tank saved his sight. Another thing, don't just throw joe dirt the local tractor driver in the cab, NH3 is only job that is either granddad, dad, or myself. I did just read a article in agri news about guys getting hurt with NH3 so it happens. Another thing, i really like having another guys around especially when changing tanks or if something happens to help with shuttling tanks but also help if something bad happens.
