Subject: RE: Need advice on Pythium damaged corn

Central Iowa
IMO it's highly unlikely that replanting will be economical. I appreciate the university tables but in my experience replant is often a gut decision and I have never replanted a marginal stand and felt it was the right move come harvest. I think it is impossible to quantify what the yield loss will be associated with the infected plants but I think given the calender and cost to replant I know I would leave it alone. If the plants survive my guess is you will be pleasantly suprised come harvest. Then again you could replant just a little and have your own pythium test plot to answer your questions.
